Nora Bayly Slawik (born November 23, 1962) is a Minnesota politician and a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives representing District 55B, which includes portions of Ramsey and Washington counties and the cities of Maplewood and Oakdale in the eastern part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. A Democrat, she is also an educator, serving as an instructor at the University of Minnesota, and a nonprofit consultant by profession.[1][2]

Slawik was first elected in 1996 and served one term. She ran again in 2000, was elected, and has been re-elected every two years since then. Prior to the 2002 legislative redistricting, she represented the old District 57A. She is the House DFL Lead on Early Learning Finance. . She also serves on the Finance committees Health Care and Human Services Finance Division. the State Government Finance Division and Ways and Means. [3] She served as an assistant minority leader during the 2003-2004 biennium.[1]
Slawik graduated from Rincon High School in Tucson, Arizona, then attended Arizona State University, where she received her B.S. in recreation administration. She trained with the United Way of America after graduating from college. She later attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, earning her M.P.A. in public affairs from the Humphrey School..[1][2]
Slawik has been active in her local community through the years. She has served as a Finance Director for the Boy Scouts of America, a President of the local League of Women Voters, a Campaign Manager for the Saint Paul Area United Way, a board member of the Minnesota Autism Society and the North Star Museum of Scouting.
